Poetic Gardening
never try to move a poppy
Wise gardeners know they rarely bloom in a neat bed with straight smooth sheets of firm dark earth and enjambed edges, yet I rip irregular roots from half dash cracks in the back door path and slash from every tiny Grecian urn its shining seeds before discarding on my compost pile … while all over unplanted caesuras sweet sap unfolding sings purple snatches of narcotic vowels in blooming whorls to poke through my untilled page
