Color Theory

When mass begins, it is still day. Midway through, while the bread and wine are consecrated, I notice that we’ve reached the hour when the outside light has faded. This is when the stained glass windows are dim to us inside the sanctuary but glow to passersby outside.

so many hues of gold winter stars

When the kids were small, I would sometimes take them outside because they were fidgety or noisy. We would dance around the colored lights reflected from the lancet and cinquefoil windows onto the outside pathways.
