Is Life a Dream?

Waking from my dreams I find a tiny spider spinning into morning light. Chuang Tzu’s butterfly and David Hume’s emptiness that could be outside his door one day. In deep night the dark skylight cloud is really a tree. Does it matter when all is illusion, a Maya dream? Birds and fish sleep even Chuang Tzu’s butterfly.

half dreaming
of how we all sleep
crescent moonrise

Is the moon only a dream drawn from the day? Is our sleep only a preview of our life on the other side? Does a star become a leaf become a hand become our silhouette?

half in a dream
getting out of bed my feet
meet their shadows
