Bouncing

I had noticed such things on a winter marsh walk when someone explained what the chickadees were doing in the old tree. On New Year's Eve outside our Boston motel window starlings were clustering on the low shrub covered with red berries, leaving and coming back again with such frequency I was stunned. The next day, New Year's Day, some sparrows and a robin had joined them and in a good mood I remembered our marsh walk.

fine winter drizzles . . .
bouncing higher and higher
drunken starlings
