a collector's notice showed up for you today – twenty-five years after you were last at this address. our youngest found it on my desk. picked it up and turned it over in her hands as if it could tell her something about the man who remains as much a curiosity as a fact. she paused ... opened it ... found that you owe someone $10,839.62 ... and then threw the notice away.
