Patricia Prime

Appointment with Delia

Delia is always perfect: deportment, demeanour and dress. Even age hasn't changed her. There are no lines around her china-blue eyes, or creases at the corners of her mouth. Her lips remain strawberry-pink and she retains her slight smile of innocence. Her hair is still corn-cob golden. Her face may look a little different now, and her nose a little too snobbish. I ask her if she has spent her time in the attic chest bossing the other toys around, but she won't talk to me as she used to.
