Waypoint

Two young college grads set out from a marina in their renovated sailboat. They tacked and jibed the lengths of three Great Lakes, passing under the Mackinac, Blue Water, and Ambassador bridges; motored their way through the historic 360 miles and 35 locks of the Erie Canal; sailed down the Hudson River to New York City (where they spent two days sightseeing) then on past the Statue of Liberty and under the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, into Lower Bay and out into the Atlantic. From there they traveled south to visit the Keys, the Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, and then crossed the Caribbean to Panama. Once through the canal to the Pacific they proceeded westabout, with the prevailing winds and currents, to circumnavigate the world.
