Phuoc-Tan Diep
You
Sleep steals hours and night slips in through gaps in the wooden window frames. The open blinds shiver. I turn the bedside lamp on; a gradual glow. In half-sleep you press those promises again onto my hand with dream lips. Your warm body is hidden from the stars beneath the sheets. Your hand twitches as you fall further into sleep and I lie in the shadow of your face and watch the imperceptible passing of time.
