Skin Deep

She used to cut her clothes – ripped and slashed them – till in their trashiness they somehow fitted her. Her friends claimed it was what lay underneath that mattered. So she cut her skin – slashed and burnt it till it no longer hurt. Till she'd nothing left to feel.
