Kala Ramesh
On Foreign Land
I step out not sure of the weather or the people or this country itself. Let me explain a little further. I've traveled from India and am now standing on English soil. In London to be precise, where my son lives. He says, " Ma, you know the language. This country is very organized. You should have no problems in finding your way about," and leaves for his office!
I stand outside the gate, unsure, with a faint feeling of going back into the house when a worker smiles to say "good morning." I wish him back, another person wishes me and I wish him too. I walk down the lane, not less than four people wish me a good morning.
