Betty Kaplan

The Widow

We were out to lunch, the widow and I. She turned to me and said "I am sorry for all the times I said no" I did not know what she meant then but I do now.

Never again to share our bodies. Never again to feel his arms around me. Never again to cuddle and talk about the things we did together.

Now I am the widow.
