The Missing Game

"Drawing time children." I clap my hands. I've taught myself to talk less and be more animated. "Do you hear me?" I gesture wildly. Some crying, some eating . . . Now, is that a fight going on for a chair? But why? There are enough chairs for everybody.

the fallen leaves

One child is shouting that he doesn't want his apples orange? What? Oh . . . With a blue crayon in hand, he says, "Oranges need not be orange . . . don't you see, Miss?"
