Ancient Aunties

I've just heard that I'm to become a great aunt (kind of). And immediately I'm surrounded by a gallery of them: ancient aunties. The auntie with winking earrings who brings gifts of fairy tales. The bread and butter before cake auntie with her plate of macaroons. The auntie leading us through the gothic portals of South Kensington to see the dinoasaurs. And last but not least, the auntie who sits by the river in winter and says she's writing poems.
