Up on the Roof
Bored with playing on monkey bars at the local park, we girls scale the side of a nearby maintenance building. On its flat tar roof is a thin icing of gravel and fossils we call Indian beads. We sift through the stones until our pockets are full. Before jumping down we each sink a shoe print in the hot tar to mark our trespass.
