Four of us gather at a picnic table, catch up a bit, talk about the terrain, and set a return time. Solo, we wander in different directions—no hurry, no swinging of arms. This is a ginko walk. We observe nature—the small unnoticed happenings of life—then write about it. In conversation, in friendship, we read our haiku to each other.
