Dave Chandler
A Guardian
Hi Alicia,
Just dropping a note to say how often I keep thinking of Bill these days, especially when I see a big man carrying a child on his shoulders, a couple laughing at their dog’s new trick, a craftsman who really knows what he’s doing. I look around for Bill too when a panhandler stares blankly at the faces rushing past or when that ragged man in the alley beats the cement with his fist as he comes off his high.
Some days when my work at home is not going well, and my depression feels like a chill,
I put on
one of those jackets
Bill had made for everyone
in the shop he built—
