Rupa Anand
The Pilgrim
for Rishikesh
Much like a mountain climber, my eyes tingle, and lungs heave from the strain of walking against the wind. It’s cold but I keep at it. Wrapping the pashmina tight, I think of the thousands who have been here through the centuries. My eyes are watering now. The river waters alongside are cool and placid, their gentle ripples ending in quiet nudges against boulders that line the edge.
