the tuning fork

why is writing so difficult for me I always wonder, the struggle always the struggle to get the story to go the way I want it to go but you should have stuck to music my mother says you were so good, your fingers glided over the veena effortlessly, I always imagined my daughter as a musician the truth hits me, it’s that feeling of inadequacy in everything I do “aim for the sky, land on the roof, aim for the roof, land on your butt” ouch, it’s painful even to think about that

my little one comes running into the room, bawling
she has scraped her knees playing football

I tell her to go back and rejoin the game…

to feel the ground as it moves
the thrill when your foot connects with the ball accurately
the goal will happen

images float
along the dream space
Monet's lilies
