A cyclothymic dialectic

…one hand on my suicide, one hand on the rose…
     — Leonard Cohen

Chocolate or vanilla? Ones or zeds? North pole or south? Ah, Polarity (with a capital P)! The earth’s bipolar—could explain my vacillating ground states—elementary statistical psychomagnetic field theory. But it’s almost impossible to predict which pole will hold sway, where or when. Flip flop, flop flip. Up or down—then down is up? On one hand, it doesn’t really matter, I tell myselves. Yet, way over yonder, on the other hand……….

either yes or no
yet perhaps it's neither
quavering moon
"no blame"
the same damn hexagram
again and again

Note: Epigraph is from Leonard Cohen’s “Stories of the Street.”
