Peter Grandbois

Any music but the last

Obsession from the Latin obsessio, meaning "besieged," as in the way Christ was besieged by his need to cleanse the temple in Jerusalem. Passion from the Latin passionem, meaning "to suffer or endure," as in the crown of thorns, as in the long march up Golgotha. Christianity begins with the madness of God in sending his only son to die and ends with the madness of the Son’s willingness to die. "Many of them were saying, 'He has a demon and is insane. Why do you listen to Him?'" (John 10:20-21)

Through a blister of want,
it is difficult to hear
mouths swollen with song.
