May Day

Would they expect me to wear black? Her voice is soft. I can tell that in her heart she doesn't feel like seeing anybody else tonight. But in a few hours her house will be filled with family and neighbours, who tell her they are so sorry for her loss and yes, of course they will sit down for a moment and no, they won't stay for coffee.

At the age they all are, visits like these happen all the time.
