it's my turn. a little after two in the morning. the squirming started about five minutes ago. now he's up, smacking his lips, arms and legs flailing, those big eyes rolling. i lift the little fellow from his crib, all four weeks of him. his head jerks right, his neck stiffens, his mouth opens; that tiny contorted circle stretching, searching, expecting to latch on to his mother's nipple. it would be kind of convenient if we fathers too could do a little breastfeeding...
