Lullaby

I get lost each time somewhere far away when I see a rainbow in my daydreams. The journey there can take years wrapped up in seconds. Sometimes, I travel in a hot air balloon adrift on a gentle breeze after a summer’s rain until, finally, I reach the landscape of my youth.

flowers
in my mother’s garden
reaching for the sun
my feet planted in memories
hearing her voice sing a song
