It’s nearly 4:30 in the afternoon. I’m sitting here wondering what to do. Too gray and raw to go out. This slow, cold, mood-shivering spring keeps me hibernating. I could empty out the dishwasher, iron, clean a cupboard. . .

no pressure now
no need to hurry
time is my own
     this freedom comes with a price
     each day paid with loneliness
