Her Place

Mum is in hospital after falling and breaking her hip.

Because she lives alone,

doctors say

it’s unsafe
for her to live alone
… instead
she must move
to a nursing home

Mum says

I want to live
in my own house
not decay
in some institution
with nothing to do

the family says

it will be good
for Mum to be in care
she’ll get used to it
we won’t have to worry
… so let’s just get it done
