Museum Day

I have this theory that we’re actually on a spaceship above Earth, which is extinct now, and we’re aliens looking at it.

Orbiting Earth is a museum dedicated to its history. Inside it we can choose to do a life simulation of what it would have been like to live there and be human.

Being immortal, it’s fun to pick a person of our choosing, with all the characteristics of an Earthling, with whatever talents and flaws they had. I choose a military man, pivotal to Earth’s history.

In the 21st century, people know their world can be destroyed, but really just go about their daily lives, not expecting it.

But when I hit that button, it’s like time stops. I know my time is over, but I don’t care because I got the enemy. I’m smirking as everything explodes…

Back on the spaceship I’m me again for the first time in what feels like years but was really only minutes. And I look forward to the next planet on our list: Mars. Looks like the humans destroyed that too, and didn’t even know it.
