Last Chance

He’s in his chair. So very thin and quiet. Only his eyes speak. His carer comes in. She’s big and loud and bossy and he perks up. He likes her and does as he’s told. He likes to please, feel her smile. Yesterday, he went out for a walk without telling anyone. She caught him.  That was the first time I saw him look so young, almost like a little boy.
