Bird’s eye
A friend recently told me about a cardinal that appeared in a tree outside her window not long after she learned that her nephew took his own life. Months later, on his birthday, a cardinal appeared in the same tree, and again, on the anniversary of the day her nephew ended his.
It was him, she told me, I told him he could come over if things were bad. Is this cardinal, looking at me now, someone loved and lost, seen and not seen again?
