Okei's most important job in the farm is to play music so the silk worms produce more silk. Today, as she plays the bamboo flute, a blue butterfly dances around her fluttering fingers. A soft breeze is blowing through her hair and tattered cotton work clothes.

Magic music, magic flute—some scoff at these as superstition. Fact, fiction, reality—it doesn't matter to Okei for she is weaving another world.
