A Dot on the Earth

A neighbor passes with a “Going to yoga today?”

“Not today - it’s a little too cosmic for me,” I answer.

She smiles a questioning frown, shrugs, and walks on.

Like a few other locals, I’ll perform a private noon ritual to celebrate today’s the turning back of our sun. It’s only ten o’clock, but I’ll be ready in plenty of time.
