CHO Acceptance Rate Update

There's a reason I teach History and English and not Mathematics. After CHO 11.1 was released, I received a kind email from Joan Zimmerman about CHO and her reading of Rattle poems on a radio program in California, in which she asked, "Is that 27% of authors sending something? Or 27% of poems?"

My statistical analysis had been on authors: 27% of authors who submitted work had at least one of their haibun or tanka prose accepted. With some math anxiety, I went back and crunched the numbers for total submissions. That acceptance came to 24%.

That rushing sound of wind is my sigh of relief.
